Goodbye for now
So there’s plenty of action still to come on Friday.
First we all need to digest the magic we have just seen in the gymnastics. That was Olympic sport at it best from Simone Biles and her competitors.
We hope you enjoyed the coverage and can join us again soon.
For now, though – from me, Kevin Hand – it’s goodbye.

Talk turns to LA
Simone Biles will be 31 years of age by the time the Los Angeles Games come around in 2028. Surely Biles will push for it and the chance to go out on home soil.
Two down – three to go
The five golds remain on for Simone Biles. Who would bet against her? That’s her sixth Olympic gold.
Disappointment for D’Amato and Nemour
The Italian and Algerian helped to make this final. They nearly produced an upset. The top three was expected – we just needed to know the order. They were pushed all the way, though.
Canada’s Elsabeth Black finishes in sixth in her fourth Olympics.
The emotion is overwhelming
Lee celebrates with Biles, who is the coolest customer in the house.
Andrade finishes second and Lee third
Brazil have silver as Team USA take gold and bronze.
The roar is wild – Biles has her second gold in Paris
The crowd erupts with the confirmation that Biles is Olympic All-Around champion once again!
Biles reclaims her Olympic crown
After the disappointment of Tokyo, Biles is back!
The shock will be huge if Biles is not awarded gold
The whole arena believes gold it going to the Team USA gymnast.
Biles stops short of celebrating
Andrade thinks Biles has won by her adulation in applause.
A foot goes wide but has Biles just won gold?
A double straight finishes but the second to last finish had a slight side step. How costly will it be? Everyone thinks Biles has it.
A huge first twist and an even bigger smile
Biles is all over this routine and the crowd know it. Surely only a mistake will stop her now.
The first leap was incredible.
It’s Biles moment
She takes to the floor and the crowd are with her. The world watches on.
Andrade goes for gold
What are we seeing? The Brazilian moves above Sunisa Lee. 14.033 is recorded. Lee pushed Andrade into second in Tokyo.
Andrade ups the tempo
A double straight is perfectly landed towards the end. A double pike back to finish. This is going to be tight.
Andrade scraps for second
The Brazilian has a full twisting double back but steps off the floor on landing. A full twisting double back straight follows.
Lee storms the lead – what drama!
13.666 is recorded. Only Biles and Andrade to come. D’Amato and Nemour are likely to miss out now.
Lee brings the house down
A double tuck with a perfect landing finishes. The Team USA gymnast could not have done more. Incredible scenes.
