India beat Namibia by 93 runs: T20 World Cup – as it happened

Thanks for joining our live coverage of India against Namibia at the T20 World Cup.

The co-hosts eased to a 93-run victory after an assured display with bat and ball. Now, all eyes turn to Colombo and that huge India-Pakistan fixture on Sunday.

After two wins from their opening two games, India head to Colombo on Sunday to face Pakistan in a huge clash.

It’s a been a long road to this fixture even happening, with Pakistan deciding to reverse their boycott of this match.

The game will take place at 13:30 GMT on Sunday, reigniting the biggest rivalry in world cricket.

Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus has also given his assessment of the match: “I thought after the powerplay that we had a chance. It’s quite a small ground, with maybe a bit of dew settling … I really thought maybe we were in with a chance.”

“Unfortunately, Varun broke the back of our chase.”

On their next game against the USA: “The slower conditions in Chennai might suit us. I still think there is a lot in the tank. We have got a lot of firepower in our attack.”

India skipper Suryakumar Yadav has been giving his reaction after today’s win:

“It was a pretty good game for everyone, it was not an easy wicket to bat on.”

On issues with the wicket: “The ball was topping a little bit, but I won’t take credit away from the Namibian bowlers as they bowled very well.”

On India’s start with the bat: “After 6, 7 overs it felt that we might go past 240, 250 but it is a game of cricket which is a fantastic leveller.”

On Bumrah’s return: “It was a big plus to see Bumrah bowl here, he is all set to go for the next game, as well.”

After scoring a half-century and picking up a couple of wickets, Pandya deservedly wins player of the match.

“I am just enjoying the sport, I had a good couple of months to prepare and get the rhythm and get the body right.”

On his batting: “I have always taken pride in my batting as an all-rounder … batting is always close to my heart, and when that comes, it adds more sugar to the cake .”

On maintaining his fitness as an all-rounder: “My body has been fantastic. It takes a lot of hard work, which I cherish, but playing for my country has always been my pride and number one priority.”

The fans are enjoying themselves in the stands as the Indian players celebrate a resounding victory.

A really good performance from the Indian bowlers, with Varun Chakravarthy standing out with figures of 3-7. There were two wickets a piece for Patel and Pandya.

Namibia showed little resistance with the bat, with the openers top scoring with 29 for Steenkamp and 22 for Frylinck.

Green hits his own wicket after a reverse sweep, and that’s it – Namibia are all out! India have done their job and eased past Namibia.

A huge roar as Pandya charges in for his hat-trick ball. He pitches it a bit shorter, and Heingo deals with the danger.

He seems as confused as us as to why he didn’t bowl up at the stumps.

The new batsman is stuck in his crease and can’t get an inside edge as the ball hits the knee-roll. India appeal for LBW and the umpire agrees.

Shikongo appeals, but it is plumb.

A brilliant yorker from Bumrah! It gives the batsman no chance of closing the gate. Trumpelmann’s stumps are left everywhere.

That was a bit of a pointless review from India, the ball always looked like it was going over the stumps.

Dube oversteps the mark for the second time in this over, but Namibia can’t capitalise with the free hit.
