Duterte pulls Philippine police out of his ‘war on drugs’

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has made a dramatic policy change in his battle against drug gangs.

He has ordered local police units to stand down and let the government drug enforcement agency take the lead, citing corruption in the police force and the need to “clean up”.
