How vulnerable are we to spying technology?
Journalists, activists and even world leaders may have been targeted by Israeli firm NSO’s Pegasus spyware.
Governments have been hacking into people’s privacy for years.
Some of the technology is for sale and tens of thousand of politicians, journalists, lawyers and activists have been targeted.

The system called Pegasus is from an Israeli spyware company called NSO Group.
According to evidence collected by the Paris-based NGO Forbidden Stories and the rights group Amnesty International, it seems there are 50,000 people whose phones have been selected for surveillance.
Most of the numbers are in Gulf countries and North Africa, but other affected nations include India, Pakistan and France.
