The best-selling US author and novelist discusses her vampire novels and evolving faith.
US author Anne Rice is known around the world for her best-selling novel Interview With the Vampire (1976) and the famous Vampire Chronicles series it inspired.
She has written several other novels about erotica, historical fiction, and religion, most of which weave together the visible and supernatural worlds in compelling stories.
Her books have sold over 100 million copies, making her one of the most widely read authors to-date. She says: “To write something, you have to risk making a fool of yourself.”
Anne Rice finds the inspiration for her work in life experiences and from her own curiosity about the world, as described in her spiritual memoir entitled Called Out of Darkness (2008).
