Cuba’s legendary leader Fidel Castro has taken his last bow as leader of the party he founded more than 50 years ago.
And after years of economic and political stagnation, proposals for market reform and proposed term limits for Cuba’s leaders is widely seen to mark a historic step in a new direction.
As Cuba’s historic Communist Party summit draws to a close this week, we ask: how will Cuba rejuvenate its stilted revolutionary project – and does market reform necessarily mean abandoning its founding socialist principles?
