We will soon be closing this live page. Here’s a look at the day’s key events:

    • At least 109 Palestinians, including dozens of children, have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza over the past 12 hours in a major breach of the US-led ceasefire agreement.
    • The US and other mediators say the ceasefire remains in place despite the gross violations, with Qatar’s prime minister saying all the parties remain committed to the deal.
    • Palestinians in Gaza have held funerals for loved ones killed in the wave of Israeli bombings, while hospital staff treat dozens of patients suffering from shrapnel wounds and internal bleeding.
    • Israel has banned the Red Cross from visiting Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, Defence Minister Israel Katz announced, spurring condemnation from the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society advocacy group.
    • Intensified Israeli army and settler attacks against Palestinians continue in the occupied West Bank, with several violent raids, arrests and other incidents reported.

Palestinian describes torment of brother missing for decades

Subhia al-Bouz, from Nablus in the occupied West Bank, has described the pain after Israel handed over hundreds of bodies as part of the Gaza ceasefire – but not the remains of her brother.

Al-Bouz’s brother, Nasser, disappeared in 1989. In 2012, they were told his body was among dozens to be released by Israel – only to find out the man in the casket was not him.

“There is no feeling in the world more painful than this. Sometimes I find myself envying those who can proudly say their brother is a martyr. I envy them because they can visit his grave … and feel a sense of peace – knowing he is remembered and honoured,” she told Al Jazeera.

“But in our case, it feels that this person is nothing, his worth has been forgotten, and no one knows what has become of him, despite the fact he was one of the prominent leaders of the first Intifada … It is really difficult and painful.”

Israeli settler attacks ‘part of state-backed campaign’ to displace Palestinians

That’s according to Israeli human rights group B’Tselem, which has documented dozens of incidents of Israeli settler and military violence against Palestinians during the olive harvest.

“Dozens of harvesters were injured, some requiring medical treatment. Cars were set on fire, equipment was destroyed, herds were harmed, and harvests were stolen. Many reported experiencing significant psychological distress due to the assaults,” the group said.

“This is not ‘isolated violence’ but part of a state-backed campaign, carried out with full impunity, to dispossess Palestinians of their land,” BTselem stressed.

“These attacks target Palestinian livelihood and their very right to the land, and are integral to Israel’s ongoing efforts to ethnically cleanse the West Bank.”

Throughout October 2025, at the start of the olive harvest, dozens of documented incidents across the West Bank in which settlers and soldiers attacked Palestinian farmers, stole crops, vandalized property, cut down trees, and blocked access to farmland.

Israeli forces raided the town of Qabatiya and the village of Anza, south of Jenin, in the occupied West Bank, Wafa reported.

According to local sources, troops stormed the town of Qabatiya with several military vehicles and deployed infantry units in the town’s streets, firing sound bombs.

Soldiers also entered the village of Anza and raided a house as vehicles patrolled neighbourhoods.

Israeli forces have intensified raids on Jenin’s towns and villages, detaining and interrogating Palestinian residents.

Netanyahu tours US-led Gaza coordination centre in southern Israel

The Israeli prime minister has shared photos of a visit to the so-called Civil-Military Coordination Centre in Kiryat Gat, where US troops are overseeing Trump’s Gaza ceasefire plan.

“We want to ensure that in the end, the goal that President Trump and I agreed on – of disarming Hamas and demilitarising Gaza – will be achieved,” Netanyahu said, according to one of the posts his office shared on social media.

Netanyahu’s tour of the site comes just hours after the Israeli military launched a series of attacks across Gaza that killed more than 100 Palestinians, including dozens of children.

Israel and its top ally, the US, have since said the Gaza ceasefire remains in place despite those deadly bombings.

Quick facts: Israeli settler attacks ramp up amid Palestinian olive harvest

As we’ve been reporting, Palestinians across the occupied West Bank have faced a wave of Israeli settler violence as they try to reach their olive groves.

According to the UN’s humanitarian office (OCHA), about 86 harvest-related settler attacks that caused casualties or property damage have been recorded since the beginning of October. That includes attacks on farmers, theft of crops, and vandalism of olive trees.

Here’s a quick look at OCHA’s latest figures on the attacks:

    • Fifty Palestinian villages and towns have been affected by the wave of violence, OCHA says.
    • At least 112 Palestinians have been injured by Israeli settlers and troops during the harvest, while more than 3,000 olive trees and saplings have been vandalised.
    • In the same period last year, about 50 Palestinians were injured in Israeli settler and military attacks, and more than 1,000 olive trees and saplings vandalised.
    • In a recent attack, masked settlers attacked Palestinian families with stones and sticks near the villages of Turmus Aya, al-Mughayyir and Khirbet Abu Falah on October 19. They also “set two olive trees and four vehicles on fire, and stole at least three bags of harvested olives”.

Israeli settlers target vehicles, olive trees in occupied West Bank

Israeli settlers targeted Palestinian vehicles in the village of Deir Nidham, northwest of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank.

The Wafa news agency, citing local sources, reported settlers threw stones at vehicles at the entrance to the village, resulting in damage to a number of cars and shattered windows.

At the same time, settlers cut down hundreds of ancient olive trees in the village of Qaryut, south of Nablus. According to local farmers, they were shocked to find their olive trees destroyed after obtaining a two-day access permit to their lands, Wafa said.

Their lands are located near the illegal Israeli settlement of Eli, built on the villages of Qaryut, as-Sawiya, and al-Lubban Asharqiya.

Trump wants to see Gaza ceasefire hold

    By Patty Culhane

    Reporting from Washington, DC

The administration of US President Donald Trump is sending the message that the ceasefire is back on and they are committed to making sure that it sticks.

A US source told Al Jazeera they do believe that Hamas was responsible for the attack that left that Israeli soldier dead. They said they believe Israel’s response was limited and targeted, and it has stopped now. They said the ceasefire is back in effect.

The source said they have eyes and ears on the ground in the area, but they’re going to be sending senior officials back to the region because this is a priority for Trump. He wants to see not only the Gaza ceasefire hold, but he wants to see a broader Middle East peace.

Why did Israel launch air strikes on Gaza then ‘resume’ truce?

    By Maziar Motamedi

The Israeli military says it returned to the ceasefire in line with instructions from the political leadership, but remains ready to attack Gaza again if necessary.

It said it hit more than 30 targets in the besieged enclave, claiming the targets were “terrorists in command positions within terror organisations”.

But as more residential buildings were flattened by Israeli bombs, at least 18 members of the same family in central Gaza – including children, parents and grandparents – were among the victims.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 68,643 people have been killed and 170,655 wounded since the start of Israel’s genocidal war in October 2023.

Hamas slams Israeli ban on Red Cross visits to Palestinian prisoners

The Palestinian group says the ban violates the rights of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel and “adds to a series of systematic and criminal violations they are subjected to, including killing, torture, starvation, medical neglect, and the withholding of information”.

As we reported earlier, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz signed an order barring Red Cross representatives from visiting Palestinian prisoners, citing an assessment by domestic security agency Shin Bet that the visits could pose a security threat.

In a statement shared on Telegram, Hamas called on the international community and human rights groups to intervene to stop Israel’s “brutal measures against Palestinian prisoners in prisons”.

“We urge them to work diligently for their release, to expose the occupation’s brutal practices, and to hold its leaders accountable for their unprecedented crimes against humanity,” it said.

Amid its war on Gaza, Israel has ramped up its arrests of Palestinians, including women and children. Human rights groups have documented widespread abuse and inhumane conditions in Israeli detention facilities.

What does the process of retrieving bodies in war-ravaged Gaza entail?

Tens of thousands of Palestinians have gone missing across Gaza during Israel’s two-year bombardment, forcing rescuers and loved-ones to dig through tonnes of rubble in a desperate search for their remains.

We’ve spoken with Soren Blau, head of the forensic archaeology and anthropology division at the International Committee of Missing Persons, about what the search for – and recovery and identification of – missing people in a conflict zone typically entails.

“In a warzone, where infrastructure is severely damaged, the identification process becomes slower and really necessarily dependent on coordination and protection of information,” Blau told Al Jazeera.

When a person’s body can be found, she explained, it’s critical to record and properly store all information about the remains and the recovery area. “Where all infrastructure is destroyed, then it’s necessary to think about a respectful place to temporarily hold or store the deceased person,” she said, noting this can be a temporary grave site.

Another key step is communicating with family members. “Clearly, there are many, many people searching for their missing loved-ones … It’s really important that the families are aware of the process and what exactly is happening, and the limitations around why time, for example, would play a factor in providing detailed information back to them.”

Palestinian rights group urges global arms embargo against Israel

Al-Haq, a Palestinian human rights group, has welcomed a recent report by United Nations expert Francesca Albanese that outlines how third-party states enabled Israel’s war on Gaza through their continued support for the Israeli government and military.

In a statement, Al-Haq said it hoped Albanese’s findings will “finally lead to meaningful, tangible action on behalf of States to bring an end to the daily horror experienced by Palestinians across the unlawfully occupied Palestinian territory”.

“Large-scale military aid, cooperation, and arms transfers, primarily from the US and European nations, have provided Israel with the means to carry out its destruction of the Palestinian people, who have been dehumanised to such a degree that the international community remains deaf to their cries despite watching their suffering for two full years,” the group said.

Among other things, Al-Haq called on countries to impose a two-way arms embargo on Israel, levy targeted sanctions against Israeli officials complicit in violations of international law, and end all “military, trade, and diplomatic support that sustains” Israeli violations against Palestinians.

Al-Haq welcomes the UN Special Rapporteur’s report “Gaza Genocide: a collective crime” and urges immediate, concrete action by Third States based on their shared demands #GazaGenocide #EndImpunityhttps://t.co/04YIWtcr7Y

Death toll rises in Gaza after Israel attacks to 109, including 52 children

Gaza’s Government Media Office says 109 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in the past 12 hours, including 52 children, 23 women, four elderly persons, and seven people with disabilities.

In a statement, the office said Israel is continuing its “systematic campaign of misinformation, forgery, and lies aimed at distorting the truth and covering up its ongoing crimes against civilians in the Gaza Strip”.

“The occupation published a list containing 26 names, including 21 photos, claiming they belonged to people killed during its brutal recent aggression that occurred over the past 24 hours,” it said.

“Upon careful examination, it was found the list contains three incorrect names that are not Arabic and are not recorded in the official Palestinian records, in addition to fictitious names that do not exist in reality, some of which intentionally had no photos attached.”

Israel is conducting attacks on Gaza in “flagrant and deliberate violation of the principles of proportionality and distinction”, repeatedly targeting residential neighbourhoods, hospitals and shelters, the Government Media Office said.
