Senegal come from behind to advance to quarterfinals

After Abdullah’s surprising strike after six minutes pushed Sudan into the lead, Senegal roared back with an emphatic attacking display to eventually win 3-1.

Pape Gueye scored twice in the first half, before Mbaye added an insurance goal.

Sudan, despite dealing with a civil war, have certainly won plenty of hearts at this 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Sudan get on a break the other way, with Diatta putting in a tidy sliding tackle to prevent Nouh from taking a shot.

Unfortunately, Diatta collides with Mendy, who had the same idea, but luckily Nouh is thwarted.
